Happy New Year to all the CANINE supporters and visitors to this site. Just before Christmas we learned that the application for UBF has nothing to do with the hunt and that the fact that the plans have MFH written all over them is an error. This was also the reason that there was not a representative of MFH at the Priddy Parish Council meeting on Dec 22nd. On January 6th 2011 we see the headlines we have been hoping for “Hunt Scraps its plans to build new kennels”Is this the Priddy application?
But the story in the Wells Journal is about the other proposal at Chewton Mendip and not about Priddy. It concludes with the following, which is missing from the above link: Mr Martin said: "UBF is not a site we want to use for the hunt. We do not intend to move there. The point of the application at UBF is to dress it up for sale." The Journal concludes with: UBF was bought by retired quarry magnate Angela Yeoman in 2007 with the intention of using it as a hunt kennels, but the plans met with strong local opposition, forcing the hunt to look elsewhere for a home. ENDS Strangely, when this went to press MFH did not have planning permission at Mountain Ash, although the planning officer thought it was likely to be recommended for approval. The UBF application is expected to be withdrawn (but hasn't been yet) again planning is expecting a Fresh application changing it to private equestrian use rather than commercial. If that happens it will be a NEW application and anyone who wrote in before will have to write in again IF they want their objections/support noted. |
